School uniforms? Check. Desks and chairs? Check, check.

USC East College Prep, the second charter high school developed and designed by the USC Rossier School of Education, is less than a week away from opening to its first class of ninth-graders.

On July 31, USC advancement and development staffers from the nearby Health Sciences Campus volunteered to prepare the school for the students who will arrive on Aug. 10, putting together furniture, beautifying the campus and organizing gym shorts and school uniforms.
