USC medical student investigates mysterious breast disease and aims to educate women about it

Ivonne Verduzco seeks answers about a painful condition prevalent in Latinas.

Ivonne Verduzco is determined to find answers about idiopathic granulomatous mastitis, partly because it affects her community.

Scientists know little about the painful and disfiguring disease that primarily affects Latinas, and few people have heard of it. The Keck School of Medicine of USC medical student wants to change that, to bring comfort and healing to women.
