As part of USC’s 129th Commencement ceremonies, the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism celebrated the conferral of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees to 872 students today.
Seventy years after the forced internment of Japanese-American citizens and Japanese nationals during World War II interrupted their studies, USC’s Nisei (a term used to describe first-generation Japanese Americans) were awarded honorary degrees at a special reception following Commencement today.
On May 11, more than 40,000 members of the Trojan Family will descend on the University Park campus for USC’s 129th Commencement ceremony. Headlining the event will be an address by journalist Christiane Amanpour.
