Trojan Tip-Off to welcome fresh and familiar faces from USC basketball
Intrasquad scrimmages will follow autograph sessions and interactive games Sunday at Galen Center.
Trojan Tip-Off will give USC fans their first chance to see players from the 2015-16 men’s and women’s basketball teams.
Fanfest, which begins Sunday at noon at the Galen Center, features game and activities as well as autograph sessions with players and coaches. Two 20-minute intrasquad scrimmages will follow at 1 p.m. Admission to the event is free.
The teams will open their seasons as part of a Nov. 13 doubleheader, as the women face Hope International and the men host San Diego.
The top nine scorers from last season’s men’s team, including guard Katin Reinhardt, forward Nikola Jovanovic and Pac-12 All-Freshman selection guard Jordan McLaughlin, will return for coach Andy Enfield’s men’s team. The team also has USC two top-60 recruits in freshman forwards Bennie Boatwright and Chimezie Metu.
The USC women’s team, under Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, has added eight players to its core of veterans, such as senior guard Brianna Barrett, who averaged 9.6 points per game last season. Among the newcomers: graduate transfer Temi Fagbenie, who averaged 14.4 points and 10.4 rebounds for Harvard University last season.
