USC Athletics continues Black History Month commemoration
Website features fascinating profiles of Trojan legends who serve as role models for the university and the African-American community

As Black History Month draws to a close, USC Athletics is closing out its celebration of its proud African-American heritage: the special website uscbhm.com, which profiles iconic Trojans who serve as role models for the university and the African-American community.
A feature story is added to the site each day during February. A special Twitter hashtag, #USCBHM, is also being used.
Among the fascinating personalities profiled:
- USC women’s soccer head coach Keidane McAlpine, who took to the sport when it was barely a blip on the American radar — especially in the South, where he grew up.
- Basketball legend Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, a two-time national champion at USC, Olympic gold medalist and the WNBA’s first superstar — and now USC’s women’s basketball coach.
- John Jackson, a true Renaissance man at USC, starring in football and baseball, while also earning Academic All-American honors in both sports.
