It’s a tradition for USC’s new students, whether they start in the fall or the spring: the New Student Convocation.

The university’s top leaders gathered at Bovard Auditorium on Friday morning to welcome the spring admits, those new Trojans just now beginning their time at the university.

The students, who were treated to a social Thursday night at Tommy’s Place, heard words of welcome from President C. L. Max Nikias and Interim Provost Michael Quick.

Afterward, they got a taste of USC hospitality at a reception at the Ronald Tutor Campus Center ballroom. Monday they’ll get their first taste of academia as spring semester classes begin.
