#IAmUnbroken: Video series highlights Trojans who persevered

Track standout Bryshon Nellum overcame gunshot wounds to both legs and went on to Olympic glory

In conjunction with the Christmas release of the feature film Unbroken, USC is honoring iconic war hero Louis Zamperini, the Trojan whose incredible story inspired the movie. Angelina Jolie directed the film, which follows Zamperini’s life as a track standout, USC student, Olympic hero and World War II prisoner of war.

Other members of the Trojan Family who have overcome tremendous challenges are featured in the #IAmUnbroken series, a collection of videos on the website IAmUnbroken.com.

Today we highlight the story of Bryshon Nellum, the USC track star who overcame gunshot wounds to both of his legs and went on to win an Olympic silver medal.
