Former USC All-American soccer player Amy Rodriguez, a member of Team USA, is heading to the semifinals at the 2012 London Olympics following today’s 2-0 win over New Zealand in the quarterfinals.

Rodriguez, who came on as a substitute just before stoppage time, is in the hunt for another gold medal. The United States will next face either Canada or Great Britain in the semifinals on Aug. 6.

Rodriguez competed for the Women of Troy from 2005 to 2008. In her junior season, she helped lead USC to its first NCAA Championship as the Trojans won the 2007 title.

The following year, Rodriguez made her Olympic debut in Beijing. She would go on to serve up the assist on the game-winning goal in the gold-medal game against Brazil.

Most recently, Rodriguez scored the game-winner herself in a 2-1 USA win over Canada in Team USA’s 2012 Olympic Sendoff Game.
