Faculty Physicians Named ‘Super Doctors’

Nearly 200 Doctors of USC have been selected for the 2010 Southern California Super Doctors list to be published in Los Angeles Magazine. All are faculty physicians affiliated with the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

Doctors on the list are selected by their peers. Ballots are sent to thousands of doctors in Southern California asking, “If you needed medical care, which doctor would you choose?” Nominees are grouped into more than 30 medical practice areas, and those with the highest point totals from each practice area are invited to serve on a blue ribbon panel. Panelists then review and score the nominees for their primary practice area.

The list features the top 5 percent of doctors in Los Angeles and Orange counties. It will appear in the January 2010 issue of the magazine and is now available online at superdoctors.com.

“It is particularly gratifying that so many of our talented faculty members are being recognized by their peers in Southern California,” said Keck School of Medicine dean Carmen A. Puliafito. “We at the Keck School of Medicine are very proud of the outstanding work our physicians do here at the USC Health Sciences campus and throughout Southern California.”

USC faculty physicians practice at a number of locations, including USC University Hospital, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospital, Doheny Eye Institute, the Doctors of USC Downtown, Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
