After 35 years at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication, professor Larry Gross will join USC Annenberg as director of the School of Communication.
“A respected scholar, Larry also is a proven and talented academic leader and administrator,” said Dean Geoffrey Cowan, who announced the appointment.
An expert on art and communication, social psychology of communication, and content and effects of media, Gross has written more than 70 articles and book chapters and has served as associate editor of The International Encyclopedia of Communications.
Gross, who will join USC Annenberg July 1, succeeds global communications expert Patricia Riley, who completed a full term as director.
Riley, an associate professor of organizational communication, also teaches at USC’s Marshall School of Business and will remain an active member of the USC Annenberg faculty.
