Childhood obesity forum slated for April 10

The USC Childhood Obesity Research Center, directed by Michael I. Goran, will present a symposium on April 10 featuring some of the top experts working in childhood obesity.

Topics will include studies on the basic biology and genetics of childhood obesity, as well as intervention strategies, offering a wide range of perspectives with a special emphasis on how these factors are affected in minority populations. The symposium will feature Gary Taubes, author of “Good Calories, Bad Calories” who will offer his analysis of nutrition strategies for improving health outcome.

The event will be at the Aresty Auditorium at the USC Norris Cancer Center from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on April 10. An evening reception will follow.
