Tracy Fullerton, director of USC Games, has been honored as readers’ choice Woman of the Year by Los Angeles magazine.

The award was presented at the magazine’s annual L.A. Woman luncheon Friday at the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.

Fullerton is an acclaimed game designer, educator and author whose work and passion has made a substantial impact on the games industry at large.

As director of USC Games and the university’s Game Innovation Lab research center, Fullerton oversees one of the world’s top-ranked game design program. Through USC Games Publishing, the school produces its own games for distribution.

The program is also noteworthy in that, in a specialty that’s long been considered a boys’ club, women now outnumber men in the school’s graduate video game program.
