USC students find first day on campus a moving experience
Tens of thousands of undergraduates and graduate students descended on USC’s University Park Campus on Aug. 21, marking the start of their 2013-14 academic year.
Dragging boxes, bags, furniture and must-have items from home, students and their parents turned the campus into a carnival-like atmosphere on Move-in Day. The day officially opened USC’s Welcome Week, seven days of “get-to-know-USC” activities that culminate in the first day of class on Aug. 26. About 3,000 freshmen moved into their rooms in USC’s residential colleges.
