    USC’s Wind Ensemble to perform on Open Call

    The USC Thornton School of Music’s Wind Ensemble will appear on an upcoming episode of the KCET-TV series Open Call.

    Premiering Sept. 6 at 9 p.m., the arts program will present a concert co-conducted by the school’s principal and resident conductors Robert Reynolds and Sharon Lavery, respectively.

    Open Call host Suzanna Guzmán and USC Thornton Dean Robert A. Cutietta will introduce the performance pieces, which will include “Fanfare” and “Fascinating Ribbons” by Grammy Award-winning composer Joan Tower; “Jeux des Vents” by composer and USC Thornton Assistant Professor of Composition Veronika Krausas; “Smoke & Mirrors” by composer and USC Thornton Professor of Composition Erica Muhl; and “Crossing Parallels” by composer Kathryn Salfelder.
