Health Fair Draws Community to Campus

SENIOR DENTAL STUDENT Eddie So (below right) was among dental faculty and students providing free screenings during the Neighborhood Health and Fun Fair held Sunday, April 18. Dental screenings were just one of the more than a dozen free health services provided for 250 neighbors of the University Park Campus and families from Murchison Street Elementary School, located near the Health Sciences Campus. Above, social work interns Luz Cobian, left, and Araceli Tanaka provided information on Kid Watch, one of several community resource services represented.

The event was co-sponsored and organized by the School of Dentistry, the School of Social Work and the Los Angeles Coalition of Mobile Medical Units. Partners included USC’s Division of Business Affairs, the Office of Civic and Community Relations, the USC Family of Five Schools, plus Murchison Elementary and 32nd Street Market, along with numerous other local businesses and organizations.
