The Trojans last week signed Joey Rodriguez, 9, as an honorary recruit. At a press conference, Coach Steve Sarkisian announced the signing and gave Joey a USC cap. Joey also received a shirt bearing the number of his favorite player, quarterback Cody Kessler. The event was organized in partnership with the nonprofit Friends of Jaclyn, which improves the lives of children with brain tumors.
