Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2014 USC Mellon Mentoring Awards through Jan. 31. Awardees will be announced at the end of March and honored at a ceremony to be held next spring.
All faculty members are eligible to be nominated for the awards in four categories: faculty mentoring faculty, faculty mentoring postdoctoral scholars, faculty mentoring graduate students and faculty mentoring undergraduate students.
An award will also be given to a department or school that effectively fosters a culture of mentoring.
The university’s mentoring programs are coordinated by the USC Mellon Mentoring Forum co-chaired by Varun Soni, dean of religious life, and Oliver Mayer, associate professor at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, and supported by Beth Meyerowitz, vice provost for faculty affairs. Funding is provided by a six-year grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
