Monge nets career productivity award
USC professor Peter Monge received the 2012 Steven H. Chaffee Career Productivity Award from the International Communication Association for original research that asks conceptually rich questions and offers empirically sound evidence.
The committee noted that Monge’s work “has explored new concepts, terrains and applications of communication networks in the field, including organizational communication, information systems, new technologies and mass media.
Monge, professor of management and organization at the USC Marshall School of Business and professor of communication at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, conducts research on communication and knowledge networks, ecological theories and organizational change processes.
In 2008, he received the Distinguished Article Award in Communication and Social Cognition, and in 2009, he received the Dennis Gouran Research Award for the Best Published Article in Group Communication.
Monge, co-author of Reasoning With Statistics and Theories of Communication Networks, has published more than 50 articles in top journals. He is the director of the Annenberg Networks Network, a research center focusing on communication networks.
