Two communication programs based at the Health Sciences Campus are gaining professional recognition by professional organizations.
The quarterly publication, USC Health, produced by HSC Public Relations, was honored with a Gold Award in the category of magazines by the Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Association of Southern California (HPRMA).
The USC Care Medical Groups campus-wide marketing committee won a Silver Award for The Doctors of USC advertising campaign from HPRMA.
A variety of health care organizations in Southern California, including UCLA, Cedar-Sinai, Loma Linda and managed care entities, competed for the awards. Entries were evaluated on achieving set goals and for cost-effectiveness. Judging was performed by communication professionals in the New Jersey area to eliminate local bias.
USC Health also was awarded a First Place Award of Excellence for a continuing external publication by a not-for-profit organization by the Public Communicators of Los Angeles (PCLA). The Doctors of USC campaign earned a Second Place Award of Excellence for its radio campaign.
PCLA awards recognize outstanding achievement in public relations, publicity and organizational communication originating in Southern California.
